As demonstrated by LSPD personnel, officers preparing for bicycle patrol continue to follow proper safety protocols by wearing helmets at all times while riding. This practice is essential in reducing the risk of serious head injuries in the event of an accident. Members of the public are strongly encouraged to adopt the same safety measures when cycling, including: Always wearing a properly fitted helmet Ensuring bicycles are in good working condition Following traffic laws and signals Remaining visible to other road users Cycling is a healthy and environmentally friendly activity, but it must always be done responsibly.
